Strapless Heart Rate Monitors

Perhaps the most famous brand of heart rate monitors is Polar. They are a company from Finland who started making heart rate monitors in 1977 and were really the first company to start selling heart rate monitors to he public. They now produce a wide range of heart rate monitors that cover the complete range from entry level watch style heart rate monitors all the way up to heart rate monitors with built in GPS and specialized cycle heart rate monitors.

They cater to a wide audience, so if you just want to keep track of your heart rate, are going through rehab, are recovering from a cardiac disease, or are a serious elite or pro athlete, there’s a Polar heart rate monitor to suit your needs and also fit your budget. Let’s take a look at the range Polar has to offer and see how much a heart rate monitor actually costs – it may well be less than you think!

We’ve scoured the internet looking for the best deals around so that we can bring you the typical street price you’d expect to pay for a heart rate monitor watch. In most cases we’ve found Amazon offers the best all around value although you can certainly find them cheaper on Ebay (see listings below).

You do however need to be aware of a couple of things. First off not all branded products sold on Ebay are the genuine article – there are a lot of knock offs. That’s not always a bad thing if you’re aware of it, as many ‘re branded’ items are made in the same factories as the originals. The bigger issue is that Polar as a company only honor their warranty if you’ve purchased you heart rate monitor through an authorized dealer (such as Amazon) and this is what I did. Again it may not be a big deal – my Polar M33 has been running faultlessly for 9 years and all it’s needed has been 2 battery changes. A testament to the build quality of Polar.
